PatCom continue to visit both residential and commercial properties to carry out PAT testing. We are able to work with some additional requirements in place to satisfy social distancing rules.
1: PPE – Our PAT testing engineers will be wearing more protective PPE than usually associated with PAT testing. This includes respiratory masks and gloves. Whilst they may look a little ‘overkill’ for the work we do, please be assured they being worn for both your protection and ours.
2: Keeping distance – Our engineers have been instructed to maintain a 2 meter distance from clients both inside and outside the testing premises. This may result in a bit of moving around in tighter spaces, but again it has been agreed for protection. If, due to tenants or onsite workers, it is not possible to keep these distances, we will not carry out testing until it is safe to do so. If we have already come to site and our engineer cannot complete the job for this reason, it will be postponed from that moment and a call out fee may be charged.
3: One job, one engineer – Whilst we usually consider sub contracting for larger jobs to reduce time scales, this has been ruled out for the time being and we will be working with one engineer on site. For the vast majority of jobs, this will have no impact as it would be normal for this to be the case.
4: Advanced booking – Finally, we will ask to ensure that your PAT testing needs to be completed now, and cannot wait until we are back to ‘normality’, whatever that actually means. If it can wait, we will, if not, we’ll be there.
None of these measures are meant to cause any offence or inflict any difficulty upon our clients. We always have, and always will, take the safety of both our staff and clients with the upmost seriousness.
We hope that keep well.
